Titomic wins major Dutch innovation grant to advance cold spray AM

Titomic Limited, a global leader in Cold Spray additive manufacturing (CSAM), has announced that its Netherlands division has secured €800,000 in funding from the prestigious 3D Print Kompas (3D PK) initiative. The award became a key milestone in advancing the company’s European footprint in industrial-scale additive manufacturing.

Backed by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and regional innovation bodies, the 3D PK program supports technologies that enhance economic competitiveness, sustainability, and industrial transformation. The grant will be delivered over a 24-month period to boost Titomic’s R&D and operational capabilities in Cold Spray technology.

This funding validates the strategic importance of our advanced manufacturing capabilities within Europe,” Klaas Rozema, President of Titomic Europe, said in a press release. “It allows us to expand our operations, enhance our material science research, and strengthen collaborations with industrial and academic partners throughout the Netherlands and the broader EU.

Titomic’s proprietary Titomic Kinetic Fusion™ (TKF™) process enables the production of high-performance components without melting metals by overcoming thermal challenges often associated with conventional additive manufacturing.

Among the key initiatives supported by the funding are development of advanced coatings and materials for printed circuit boards, automation of repair and refurbishment systems for aerospace,  and maritime sectors using Augmented Reality, design of a portable “Backpack” Cold Spray solution, and partnerships with local universities and industrial business to develop a skilled CSAM workforce.

With this strategic 3D PK investment, Titomic’s will keep its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and sovereign manufacturing capabilities across critical sectors.
