3D printing company Elegoo has finalized the first phase of its global project, “ELEGOO With Her,” celebrating the creative power of women in 3D printing, design, fashion, cosplay, and education. The program welcomed 30 women from 17 countries, selected from over 110 applicants, with more than 70% being newcomers to 3D printing.
Launched at Formnext 2024, the initiative was curated by eight renowned female creators, such as designer Anouk Wipprecht, architect Batoul al-Rashdan, and maker-influencer Willow Creative. Project participants explored the possibilities 3D printing brings to various disciplines, producing everything from early 20th-century–inspired lamps to STEM kits for empowering young girls in Africa.
“I remember how excited I was when I printed my first benchy,” said Janet Zagah, a renewable energy entrepreneur and participant. “The workshops and mentorship gave me more than just skills, they gave me the confidence to build and to lead.”
Fellow participant Kinnera Putti, a mobile developer, added: “Having an inclusive program run by a company as big as Elegoo is powerful. I hope others see what we’ve made and feel inspired to try something too.”
According to Elegoo’s Brand Director, Coco Lee, the initiative had the broader impact: “These projects show how powerful 3D printing can be when women use it to create and uplift. We’re proud to support that vision.”
Now that this initial phase is complete, feel free to check out Elegoo’s workshops on YouTube, while the company is planning its next major showcase at IFA Berlin in September.
