Artec Studio Lite debuts at Formnext, expanding access to professional 3D capture

Artec 3D has launched AS Lite at Formnext 2025, bringing accessible tools for pro-level 3D capture and processing to a broader 3D community. The new software is a streamlined counterpart to Artec Studio Pro, which has long been established as a benchmark across manufacturing, healthcare, CGI, and heritage preservation.

AS Lite inherits many core capabilities in Artec Studio, but is built around an intuitive workflow for users working with photos and videos, with AI Photogrammetry at the heart of the release. The technology blends the precision of professional 3D scanning with the flexibility of multi-camera, visual-only data capture.

With AI Photogrammetry, we’ve rolled out a game-changing feature for creating exceptionally lifelike 3D models,” Art Yukhin, President & CEO of Artec 3D, said in a press release. “With AS Lite, we’re taking this technology even further and making it accessible to a wider audience.

Despite its simplified interface, AS Lite keeps several professional features with it. Users can combine photos and videos from multiple devices in a single project, be it a smartphone, a camera, or a drone. Automatic sharp-image detection enables efficient texturing, while no-masking algorithms allow objects to be rotated or moved during capture. For CAD-ready accuracy, users can rely on built-in scale bars supporting sub-millimeter measurements. Finally, AS Lite boasts excellent mesh editing and 3D-print prep tools that round out the workflow.

The software’s reconstruction engine is designed to capture even the challenging surfaces – dark, shiny, or low-texture materials – with fidelity often exceeding that of low-cost scanners and competing photogrammetry solutions. “AS Lite is a self-sufficient, powerful solution for anyone who needs accurate digital twins,” Yukhin added. “All you need is a camera, smartphone, drone, or even a microscope.”

AS Lite is available now on the Artec 3D website, with monthly and annual subscription options.
