3D Systems has announced the full U.S. commercial release of its NextDent® Jetted Denture Solution, a milestone in digital dentistry that offers speed, strength, and aesthetics in a single 3D-printed prosthetic.
While traditional dentures require assembly and multiple processing steps, the NextDent solution creates one-piece, multi-material dentures in a single print. The company described this approach as up to 300% faster than conventional workflows, also significantly reducing manual labor. “Our consistent investment in this revolutionary dental technology has culminated in an outstanding denture product, delivered to the patient much faster and with better manufacturing economics,” Dr. Jeffrey Graves, president and CEO of 3D Systems, said in a press release.
The NextDent 300 MultiJet 3D printer works with two newly developed, FDA-cleared materials: NextDent® Jet Teeth and NextDent® Jet Base. Together, they produce dentures with natural appearance, rigidity where needed, and gum flexibility, with no post-curing needed. Importantly for patients, the dentures are impact-resistant. “The finished dentures bounce when dropped in the sink as opposed to shattering,” said Joshua Williams of GPS DIGITAL RPD.
Beta testers in U.S. dental labs reported dramatic time savings. “We produced a batch of 15 dentures and found this workflow to be 300% faster than analog and 120% faster than resin printers,” Williams added. Others complimented the consistency and usability. “The NextDent 300’s workflow ensures we nail the mark every single time,” said Joshua Jakson, president of Evolve Dentistry.
3D Systems is positioning the NextDent Jetted Denture Solution as part of its broader digital dentistry portfolio, which spans teeth straightening, protection, repair, and replacement. With the U.S. denture replacement market alone projected to hit $600 million by 2029, the company is hoping its technology will redefine patient-specific dental care for clinicians and patients alike.
