Signify launches sustainable 3D printed lighting for the next-gen workspace

Signify, the global leader in lighting, has unveiled Puzzle – a world’s first modular and linear lighting solution, designed specifically for office environments. This innovation blends functional performance with greener design by using 75% recycled PET materials and 3D printing to minimize production waste.

Puzzle, launched under Signify’s myCreation platform, is now available in 4- and 5-foot linear pendant sizes. It shines a glowing light on task-oriented spaces, such as desks and meeting rooms, while meeting all the workplace lighting standards and regulations for enhanced focus, comfort, and productivity.

Puzzle’s clean, geometric aesthetic is the vision of designer Florent Coirier. “My design inspiration was the way pieces fit together in a jigsaw puzzle, where individual components integrate seamlessly to form one cohesive whole, said Coirier in a press release. “Working with Signify technology has enabled us to create a piece of art that is functional and helps to create a welcoming environment in which to work.

The luminaire also supports seamless office integration. The device is fully compatible with Signify’s Interact system, which enables such energy-saving capabilities as occupancy detection and daylight harvesting. It offers both wired and wireless control options, with flexible sensor placements to accommodate varying ceiling designs.

Sustainability is a major feature of Puzzle: all of its 3D-printed components are produced from recycled PET – items like plastic bottles, carpet, or eyewear, which sets a new benchmark for circular design in the lighting industry.

At Signify myCreation, we focus on creating spaces where people want to be and love to work, while living our own purpose: leading in sustainability, said Bart Maeyens, head of Signify myCreation.

Puzzle is currently available to European customers, with new additions to the product line-up set to launch next year – targeting a range of ceiling compositions in hospitality and commercial spaces.
